NAME AND TITLE

Chris Goehrs – Application Developer

MY TYPICAL WORKDAY

All of my days are so different from each other. Some days I’ll be digging into server code to find some deep-seated issue. Sometimes, I’m having to learn a new language on the fly so I can pick up where somebody else left off. Yet other times, I’m waist-deep in mobile development. Every day is an adventure.

HOW I CHOSE MY CAREER PATH

As a kid, I was already a whole lot better at talking with machines than with my peers. At about 13 years old, I listened as my oldest sister told a story about something that happened while she was working at GE. She had a coworker that hated her. Whenever she was confident that her work was done, she would turn it over to him to test, asking him to break it. I admired her bold yet vulnerable attitude and wanted to be like her. Now, here I am.

MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT WORKING AT ASCEDIA

I was attracted to Ascedia by the difficult tasks they had for me. I really looked forward to taking on something difficult and was not disappointed. There’s a constant flow of opportunities here to learn and grow. Being able to constantly absorb new things while being surrounded by others who have done many difficult things is a pleasure.
