Account Manager - Travel & Tourism

Ascedia is seeking an experienced account manager to join our growing travel/tourism team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, organized and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills. The account manager will be responsible for leading day-to-day projects and communications, while providing thoughtful recommendations that generate growth for Ascedia's travel/tourism clients.

SUMMARY:

Mid-level position. 3-5 years of experience in related industry. Responsible for day-to-day client services and relationship management. This includes the initiation, monitoring, documenting and reporting on client engagements for assigned accounts. The account manager is a team player that is detailed-oriented, a problem-solver, idea-generator, and has excellent communication skills. Will work on tasks ranging from small maintenance items for existing websites, to large-scale development projects, and/or interactive marketing engagements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ownership of the client relationship and day-to-day client engagements, including the success, profitability and growth of engagements.
  • Initiate proposals, estimate approvals and traffic requests while adhering to agency best practices and procedures.
  • Works with the project team to establish project scope and timelines.
  • Ensure all contracted engagements are on time, on budget and on strategy.
  • Proactively monitor programs and make adjustments as needed to mitigate risk with timelines, budgets or deliverables.
  • Obtain approval of change requests or scope changes as needed.
  • Prepare, approve and track monthly billing and budgets for assigned accounts.
  • Develop and present interactive programs and solutions to clients with collaboration of coworkers.
  • Maintain expertise in interactive and marketing solutions in order to understand service offering and changing environments.
  • Facilitate communication, status and meetings with client and team.
  • Maintain documentation of all engagements and communications.
  • Manage time efficiently while balancing training with completing assigned tasks.

EXPECTATIONS:

  • High client engagement; must be able to lead meetings, present ideas and monitor scope and budgets on many small to large-scale engagements concurrently
  • Positive and respectful relationships are developed and maintained with clients and coworkers
  • Obtain documented approvals of all work, estimates, change requests
  • Accurate and prompt time entry
  • Work under the guidance and oversight of Market Director — Tourism & Government

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • BA/BS in marketing or related field
  • 3-5 years of account management experience
  • Travel/tourism and digital experience a plus
  • Fundamental understanding of interactive marketing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, time and self-management skills
  • Focus on results and high work ethic
