The Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (WDFI) chose Ascedia to build a website to support a new initiative. Ascedia’s proven track record as a long-term partner of Wisconsin Department of Tourism instilled confidence in WDFI, who required a content management system that would give them the flexibility they needed to continue to build out additional content on a rolling schedule.
Ascedia recommended WordPress to align with budget requirements and create a simple yet flexible template structure that WDFI’s marketing team could easily manage. After a thorough strategic planning process, Ascedia created the initial site design and implemented WordPress to support the site’s framework. This enabled WDFI to make the site more robust without involving development resources. We also provided Search Engine Optimization (SEO) recommendations to help drive traffic to the site.
Over the course of five months, Ascedia worked with members of WDFI’s team on the implementation of the site. WDFI handled content development and entry, and their marketing team provided assets to Ascedia’s development team to streamline the process.
Our team was able to complete the project according to a strict timeline to align with the “Look Forward to Your Future” initiative in Fall 2016. After launch, WDFI requested additional modifications to the loan providers map and Ascedia was able to make the interactive experience more user-friendly in time for the Governor’s announcement. Upcoming enhancements include a date picker on the Events calendar to make it even easier for visitors to find activities.
In the first three months after launch, the brand new site has had nearly 5,500 visitors and over 14,500 pageviews. Visitors are spending nearly two minutes on the site and viewing an average of 2.21 pages per session.
