Irish Fest wins IFEA Gold for Best Event Website - 10/2/2009
Milwaukee Irish Fest has won the 2009 International Festivals and Events Association Gold Award for the Best Event Website.  The website was designed and developed by Ascedia, a Milwaukee based web development company.

Each year, the International Festivals & Events Association recognizes outstanding examples of quality and creativity in the promotional programs and materials produced by its 2,000 member worldwide festivals and events with the Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle Awards. This prestigious awards competition strives for the highest degree of excellence in festival and event promotions, and in doing so, has raised the standards and quality of media promotions industry-wide.

Both the design and site architecture helped Milwaukee Irish Fest establish a stronger online presence for the festival by promoting all aspects of the organization, which, in addition to the festival, include: Irish Fest summer school, Ward Irish music archives, Milwaukee Irish Fest foundation and many year round events. Key features of the site include a stage scheduling system that  displays the festival entertainment line-up in a streamlined and organized fashion, a new online store, Ward Irish music archives blog, music videos, RSS feeds and much more.

About Milwaukee Irish Fest:

Milwaukee Irish Fest is the world’s largest Irish music and culture festival.  Since 1981, the four-day festival is held every year at Milwaukee’s lake front, and celebrates the Irish heritage through music, dance, food, and cultural exhibits. Festival highlights include many performances from the local Milwaukee Irish Dance troupes and music from artists from all over the world. Irish Fest has scaled beyond the four-day festival and has formed into a large-scale organization that includes its own special events center, offers summer and music school programs, and currently stores over 30,000 Irish sound recordings in its Ward Irish Music Archives.
