What makes Ascedia special? Our people! Every week, we'll introduce you to a member of our team so you can get to know us a little better.

NAME AND TITLE

Michelle Bergner -- Senior Account Manager

MY TYPICAL WORKDAY

My typical workday is that I don’t really have a typical work day. One of the best things about working at Ascedia is the variety of clients and projects that I work on and for. This usually means that no day is the same for me, which I like. It keeps me on my toes

HOW I CHOSE MY CAREER PATH

In college I had worked my way through a few different career paths and finally settled on communications with an emphasis on public relations and advertising. An easy degree, right? After graduation, I had the opportunity to work for a local advertising agency which gave me the opportunity to really appreciate what I do. When the opportunity to work for Ascedia came up I knew it was a good next step in my career path and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.

MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT WORKING AT ASCEDIA

I’ve been with Ascedia for four years now and continue to learn something new all the time. I really enjoy working in the digital space and especially enjoy working with my coworkers and clients. I think we have a great group of people here who are all very hardworking and dedicated to what they do, but are also a lot of fun to spend time with. Plus, who can resist beer-thirty on Friday afternoons?

EDUCATION

UW-Stevens Point, Bachelors Degree in Communications with an emphasis on Advertising and Public Relations

HIGH SCHOOL MASCOT

Sun

FIRST JOB

McDonald's. I think I started when all I could do is take customers’ orders and couldn’t really do much else. Don’t miss that greasy smell on my clothes every day; however, the level of access I had to their French fries was awesome. I still love McDonald’s french fries to this day

BEST PIECE OF CAREER/PROFESSIONAL ADVICE I'VE RECEIVED

Not necessarily the best piece of advice I’ve received but here’s something that has always stuck with me…Always bring a note pad and pen to a meeting, even if it’s just a small conversation with a coworker, and especially to client meetings. You never know when you’re going to need to write something down and it’s better to have this handy than to go back to that person and have them recap their needs again.

PERSONAL HERO

My mom and dad. They’ve taught me a lot over the years and I only hope to be able to do the same for my own children.

FAVORITE MILWAUKEE HANGOUT

Catching a Brewers game at Miller Park. Love the fun atmosphere, sipping on a Summer Shandy (or two) and of course eating a big plate of loaded nachos!

LAST BOOK READ

I tend to start a book and not finish it…not exactly sure why, probably just because life gets in the way. I probably have 2-3 books that need to be finished. I just started the Game of Thrones series. As good as these books are, this is sure to take me forever to finish!

PERSON I'D MOST LIKE TO MEET (LIVING OR DEAD)

I’ve met a handful of famous people due to a job I had at a local radio station, but someone I’d love to still meet would be Justin Timberlake. He seems like he’d be a lot of fun to hang out with!

FAMILY

Husband Mark and new baby girl Olivia Grace, along with our fur children Zoey the puppy and Bailey the cat.

WHAT I DO IN MY SPARE TIME

Spending time with family and friends, especially anything outdoors. Camping has become a newer hobby of ours and I look forward to taking our growing family on these adventures in the future

SECRET TALENT

Back in the day I was in 4-H and was very handy with woodworking. I made a handful of larger items that are still used in my parents' house. It was a passion of my grandfather’s that trickled down to my brother and me.

MOST MEANINGFUL ACCOMPLISHMENT

Bringing Olivia into this world. Was so excited to meet her and couldn’t love her more!
