NAME AND TITLE

Jason Kufrin -- Interface Developer

MY TYPICAL WORKDAY

I read through emails while waiting for the coffee to kick in. Then I write code most of the day.  I'll take care of some urgent maintenance tasks when needed, but usually I'm working on fairly long-term projects.

HOW I CHOSE MY CAREER PATH

I've been attracted to the internet since the early 90s. I graduated with a degree in Graphic Design, but over the years, I evolved into a web & mobile developer. I still enjoy design/creative work, but prefer to just write code now.

MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT WORKING AT ASCEDIA

I was looking for more variety and challenges in my work as well as a team of people that I could learn from. I've definitely been challenged. All of the big projects that I have worked on have been new to me and new for Ascedia. I've learned a bunch of new languages and programs since I started here.

EDUCATION

Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design at UW-Milwaukee

BEST PIECE OF CAREER/PROFESSIONAL ADVICE I'VE RECEIVED

Do what you love. Then you'll never work a day in your life.

PERSONAL HERO

Athletes in general. Pro sports down to the weekend warriors. They inspire me to push myself further.

FAVORITE MILWAUKEE HANGOUT

It doesn't get any better than tailgating with friends and family at Miller Park on a beautiful day.

LAST BOOK READ

Malcolm Gladwell's David and Goliath

PERSON I'D MOST LIKE TO MEET (LIVING OR DEAD)

Will Ferrell

FAMILY

My wife and I recently celebrated our 10-year anniversary. We have 2 boys, ages 3 and 5. They keep me on my toes, but we have a lot of fun.

WHAT I DO IN MY SPARE TIME

Anything outdoors and especially anything near the water. Hiking, biking, backpacking, boating, jet-skiing, paddling, golf, jogging...

SECRET TALENT

Trivia. You want me on your team.

MOST MEANINGFUL ACCOMPLISHMENT

Starting a family, of course would be first. But I've climbed/hiked/paddled to some pretty remote areas to see some amazing vistas. Going on and completing each of those adventure trips would be next though.
