Ascedia, a full-service digital agency based in Milwaukee, Wis., announced today that it was honored with three W3 Awards from the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts for its work on TravelWisconsin.com, including a gold award in the tourism website category and silver awards in the travel and government website categories.
The W3 Awards honor outstanding websites, web marketing, web video, mobile sites and social content created by some of the best interactive agencies, designers and creators worldwide. “Our winners continue to find innovative and forward-thinking ways to push the boundaries of creativity in web design,” said Linda Day, director of the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts.
TravelWisconsin.com features a responsive design that allows users to access the site no matter what device or location they are accessing it from, related and nearby content to facilitate discovery, a trip planner and filterable directories that allow users to favorite places and build trips, fall color and snow condition reports, a media gallery and large imagery throughout the site to inspire users and featured content to showcase the best offerings around the state. In just one year following the launch of the redesigned site, TravelWisconsin.com users increased by 37 percent to nearly 2.5 million users, organic sessions increased by 26 percent, page views increased by 129 percent and bounce rate decreased by 77 percent.
“It’s an honor for Ascedia to be recognized once again for its digital work for Travel Wisconsin,” said Diane Charno, vice president of services at Ascedia. “These awards speak to our collaboration and partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Tourism to create the ultimate resource for finding fun in Wisconsin.”
With the addition of these three awards, Ascedia has earned 10 awards since 2011 for its work on TravelWisconsin.com and the Travel Wisconsin mobile apps.
