MY TYPICAL WORKDAY
Most of my days are spent with clients or talking to clients, updating them on the status of projects, and working with them to better understand their goals and what their options are for digital marketing solutions. I’m in Word and Excel a lot – preparing reports, agendas, meeting notes, budgets, follow-ups, and proposals. Internally, I’m in meetings related to client projects and I make sure the team has all the information they need to produce the client’s desired result.
HOW I CHOSE MY CAREER PATH
I’ve always been an early adopter, especially when it comes to the web. I’ve been blogging and tweeting since the ‘olden days,’ and it was fascinating to me to watch those personal expressions become a way for businesses to reach their customers (and vice-versa). I bring a unique background of social services and coaching to the table, which can be helpful when it comes to reading people and helping bridge any gaps in communication.
MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT WORKING FOR ASCEDIA
Ascedia has something special. Since day one, which for me was five years ago, it’s felt like home to me. There’s a great work/life balance – we work hard and we play hard, and I see that Ascedians are passionate and take pride in their work. What I love about working here is that it’s introduced me to so many smart and talented people. We bring value to our clients because we have experts on so many different subjects. I learn more than one new thing every day!

BEST PIECE OF CAREER/PROFESSIONAL ADVICE I'VE RECEIVED
There are two, and they’re from the same amazing mentor – Sara Santiago, who was the person who originally hired me here at Ascedia! 1) “It doesn’t matter what we’re selling. We could be selling toilets, but we’re a passionate team and we work hard to find solutions, and that’s what makes us great.” 2) “Be yourself. Whatever it is that you bring to the team, BRING IT.” In my case, this was enthusiasm and positivity. It can be contagious and it can make or break a project. This is my favorite piece of advice by far -– because there is no wrong way to be yourself!
FAVORITE MILWAUKEE HANGOUT
The red lighthouse. I love to run, and our Ascedia Run Club always runs past the red lighthouse. It’s iconic, and the view of the city from there is amazing. Bonus – during Summerfest you can hear the bands from there.

WHAT I DO IN MY SPARE TIME
I love to run! I’ve stuck with it for many years, completing a few marathons and a dozens of half marathons. I enjoy being an early riser, so I’ve seen my fair share of sunrises. My best work and thinking is done before 6 am! I also love to watch the planes from the viewing area on Layton Avenue, and from Mitchell Airport Park, which overlooks the runways. My husband and I enjoy camping during Wisconsin’s beautiful summers.
I can recite the alphabet backwards. I can also wiggle my ears!
MOST MEANINGFUL ACCOMPLISHMENT
My collection of medals from races around the country.
