What makes Ascedia special? Our people! Every week, we'll introduce you to a member of our team so you can get to know us a little better.
NAME AND TITLE
Scott Anderson - Hosting Manager
MY TYPICAL WORKDAY
“Typical” and “workday” are not used in the same sentence when describing a day in IT. My day is usually determined by the needs of the hosting environment, our clients or our employees. Some things I get to do during any given day include: Quoting a custom hosting solution for a potential client, launching websites, building a new server for a specific application, ensuring the environment is secure, work with vendors to secure needed resources and firefighting issues when they arise. With being on call 24/7/365, sometimes work nights are unexpectedly added to my workday.
HOW I CHOSE MY CAREER PATH
Well, I originally started going to school to become an Electrical Engineer. While in school, I needed a computer, so one of my classmates helped me build my first one. After that, I fell in love with working on computers, switched my major, and the rest is history.

WHAT I DO IN MY SPARE TIME
Spending time with my family. I especially enjoy helping our girls with school projects and movie nights at home.
I can flip up my eyelids. Yes, it’s gross, but I get a kick out of the reaction I get from people when they see it.
MOST MEANINGFUL ACCOMPLISHMENT
Being a good father to our two girls. Nothing is more rewarding than watching them grow into young ladies and knowing I played a part in their growth.
