NAME AND TITLE

Colleen Bielinski -- Senior Interactive Marketing Specialist

MY TYPICAL WORKDAY

Every day is different, but at any point I could be meeting with clients on digital marketing strategies, working on analytics reporting, managing and writing ad copy for Google or Bing ads, creating social media ads (may include swearing at Facebook Ads Manager), doing search engine optimization, working on user experience deliverables, doing heatmap, a/b or user testing…the variety keeps me on my toes.

HOW I CHOSE MY CAREER PATH

My career path has never been totally clear, but I'm glad I ended up where I am now. I actually enjoy what I do and even though it's a challenge to stay on top of the ever-changing world of digital marketing, that's what keeps me interested.

MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT WORKING AT ASCEDIA

I started working for Aloha (the old digital marketing arm of Ascedia) because I knew a few people that worked there. My favorite things about working here are the great people and casual atmosphere.

BEST PIECE OF CAREER/PROFESSIONAL ADVICE I'VE RECEIVED

"Pretend you're good at it"--I picked this up from the Jenny Lawson book below. A simple, but effective confidence-builder, perfect for public speaking engagements or trying not to look awkward at parties.

PERSONAL HERO

John Garcia from Best Friends Animal Sanctuary who saved and rehabilitated 20 of the rescued Michael Vick pit bulls and countless other dogs.

FAVORITE MILWAUKEE HANGOUT

I live in the Bay View neighborhood of Milwaukee and love that there are so many fun places to hang out there. Anything near the lake is fantastic.

LAST BOOK READ

Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things by Jenny Lawson

PERSON I'D MOST LIKE TO MEET (LIVING OR DEAD)

I know most people would say some inspirational historical figure, but I think I’m going to go with Paul Rudd.

FAMILY

I have a wonderful husband, two dogs and a cat at home. I'm also lucky enough to have my mom, sisters and brother close by along with several of my nieces and nephews.

WHAT I DO IN MY SPARE TIME

I love traveling, especially road trips.

SECRET TALENT

Juggling ... or knowing the entire script of The Big Lebowski

MOST MEANINGFUL ACCOMPLISHMENT

I ran my own dog treat business on and off for about ten years. I was the sole proprietor, so I learned a lot about handling every aspect of the small business. Plus, I met a lot of adorable pups.
