The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association (HSMAI) will honor with a Bronze Adrian Award in the Best Website User Experience category for its redesigned Cities & Regions section, which launched in December 2014. This year’s contest was one of the most competitive in history, garnering more than 1,300 entries from around the world, with entries judged by distinguished executives from all sectors of the industry.

“We are continually amazed by the creativity of the Adrian Award submissions,” said Fran Brasseux, HSMAI executive vice president. “We received an incredible number of outstanding Adrian Awards entries this year, and we are excited to recognize so many innovative companies that will undoubtedly continue to make an impact in the hospitality advertising, public relations and digital marketing industry.”

Ascedia worked closely with the Wisconsin Department of Tourism to redesign the Cities & Regions section to make it more inspirational and useful for users planning a trip to Wisconsin. Rather than a standard directory featuring long listings, the new section offers a more visual and user-friendly experience that inspires discovery and planning by region or city, with dynamic imagery to showcase an area’s best assets and improved navigation to help users find information more quickly.

Following the launch of the redesigned section in December 2014, Ascedia monitored various engagement metrics and compared to the previous year. We discovered:

  • Pageviews are up 35%
  • Unique Pageviews up 23%
  • Average Time on Page up 5%
  • Bounce Rate down 68%

The Adrian Awards, presented by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association (HSMAI), recognize excellence in advertising, public relations and digital marketing and is the largest and most prestigious world-wide travel marketing competition. All winners will be honored at the annual HSMAI Adrian Awards Gala on Feb. 16, 2016 in New York City.
